Prayer Focus: BEING STILL


BEING STILL 
 Lately, several good people have shared with me, a deep heart desire for their lives as they are approaching 2012. The common denominator is a desire to slow down; by getting their priorities in order and just to do less. Yet, what will be done will be accomplished with more substance.
The life Jesus lived on this earth proved that taking life 'one step', 'one day' and even 'one soul' at a time will reap eternal rewards; bringing all the glory to God. Yet, the lives we live today have seemingly taken a turn to: "The busier the more successful we must be." We have adopted this exhausting philosophy into our lifestyles. What is the end result?
  “The Chinese word for “busy” is made of two characters.  The first is heart,” and the second is “killing.”  For the Chinese, to be busy is to kill the heart." [Dr. T. Dukes] 
  Sensing the leading of the Holy Spirit in the lives of God's children, I personally can see God calling His children to come and sit close to Him. Taking each new day and slow down. Being still in the presence of our maker and teaching our children to do so as well. Think how we feel when we take a day off to rest, or go on a restful vacation. We come back looking, thinking and feeling revived, with clearer minds and hearts!


"Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10)

In the Hebrew, 'Be still' is raphah which means: to relax, withdraw, let drop, alone and weaken. The absence of motion! Mega, OUCH! We have a fixed notion within us that we must be busy, we must go, go, go! But, this is contrary to the Word of God. As children of the most High, it's time to hear our Father calling out to us to BE STILL!
  In this passage in Psalms, God is regarding two aspects. One is for the enemies of His children who are waging war against them to be still. Being that He is God...He stills them too! As He accomplishes that....they SEE that He indeed is God.  Who or what is your enemy? Cancer, sickness, disease, bill collectors, gossips and the list piles up doesn't it? God will cause them sooner or later to BE STILL! 
  The second aspect of this passage is for God's children to 'settle down', relax, CHILL out and be still. Many times in counselling individuals who are just stressed beyond imagination ask me; "How can I be calm, (be still)?" The answer is wonderfully simple= KNOW YOUR GOD. Recall the definition: to 'know'; in God's Word is- coming into Him. As we sit still, meditate on His Word, bask in the true fullness of His Presence...our spirits 'calm' to a place of stillness. It is then that we can be healed, hear His voice and flow in the directive of His plans for our lives.   
    Matthew 6:25-27 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
  
  Let this be the way we pray and live. By first and foremost being still and KNOWING He indeed is our God!

Praying Christ be the Lord of this Season

Prayer focus this time warriors: Let's pray that the true Christ will be the Lord of this Season. In our families, churches, neighborhoods, and friends. 
                                                           Recall the true meaning of the word - Lord:   "a person who has authority, controlor power over others; master,
chief, or ruler." Enunciate the word, 'power' first.  [PRAYER] ''Jesus, You are the Christ-the true Son of God; release Your power into our own lives, flow through us touching others. Release this as well into our families-delivering those that are oppressed, depressed and even possessed! Heal the sick and provide the financial needs of many.' 



                                                    2nd Authority-'We LET GO God this season and hopefully forever more and release our children, husbands, finances, work, church and so much more. We do repent for trying to help You. Your power created the entire universe and all of creation. Re-create us more and more into Your image; starting this holiday season. Do this as well in our children especially. 
                                                    When Christ the Messiah is Lord in the Homes of His Children; I believe we will see miracles as family members detect something different. When they look at us then they will see CHRIST the LORD and be saved. We have a testimony of this from one mom in our group. She had asked for prayer for her son who had taken off and did not come home. God moved within her and she said instead of being angry with him: when she finally got a hold of him; she just spoke with the love of the Lord. He called her back and he was touched deeply by this. 
                                                  I do hope you have a wonderful season as we approach  celebrating our Lord's birthday. Let's pray this together. Wouldn't it just be great if we all start hearing revival simply because Christ became Lord in our lives!

Prayer: Families Bringing Glory to God

Today in church my husband and I taught that in Christian lives our ultimate goal is for Christ to gain ALL the glory. Differing from the worldview here in American and all across the globe, where 'I' get's the glory.

This Thursday, families are coming together to eat, play, laugh and simply enjoy one another. Now is the time to give glory to God within our families.

Our prayer this period is for FAMILIES LIVING THEIR LIVES TOGETHER-ULTIMATELY BRINGING GLORY TO GOD!

When this happens, people see Jesus and desire Him for their lives. The most powerful witnessing tool IS the family. While children are still young exhibiting  the graces of our Lord people WILL take NOTE and start watching.

When families are out in public; praying before meals, laughing and showing respect and love---many will see Jesus!

In all of that God is getting the Glory.

So, let's pray for our families as a unit to have unity, love and Jesus--Giving God the Glory!

Romans 15:5-13

5Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,

Praying Together From the North, South, East & West

Praying for Blessings to come and Strong holds to come down from the North, South, East and West!
Presently, on our Mom's Praying for the Generations-via Face Book...we have mom's from all the way in California, way up in Michigan, Connecticut, North Carolina and Florida and all  in between. 
We love our families don't we? Thank God for praying mama's too! This has and is creating a strong cohesive bond that is growing; not just in numbers but in POWER!
I feel led this week to call on God's rich blessing to come down all across this nation of ours. Starting from the North to the South and the East to the West. As we do let's all bind the strong-holds that are holding our families, our children, our husbands and yes mothers in terrible bondage's. There is power in the Blood of Jesus, power in His Name and His Word.
Pray sisters...join with me as we combine this particular prayer-focus!  
Also, we are starting this week as a small group to come together to pray. The Lord laid certain individuals on my heart this week, inviting them to join me in praying for our families at my church (in an apartment we have). It is a humble start; but I am certain God is going to move and bless this. Ask the Lord if He wants you, to do the same. Then go...just call a handful of dear friends, have them meet at your house or church-God will open that door. We are bringing pictures of our family and going to pray over them.
If you will send me a testimony on what God has done. How He has led you. We would all love to hear about these victories; celebrating with you with all of heaven.

PRAYER FOCUS: For our children to CRAVE God!

PRAYER FOCUS: For our children to CRAVE God! For them to passionately become worshipers of Jesus! Gluttons of God's Word! John 6:1-4/24-68 is where we read Jesus telling the multitude;

"Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you."

Hunger is from the sense of lack. Christ is bread to the soul. (Nourishing and supporting the Spiritual life).

 Yet, we see many fill their hunger for love, acceptance, and security in relationships, material possessions, or even success. But we all know that they will never find real or lasting satisfaction.


Pray with your children, read God's Word with them. If they are adults, all the more when you are given the time to be together. 
Meanwhile, this is life and death to the soul; as not eating will eventually bring death. 


We want our children to not only just live...but partake on the LIVING BREAD...that will cause them to SOAR LIKE EAGLES. This is the Generation to usher in a revival of prayer accompanied with salvation's, signs and wonders. 
Let's not accept apathy in the spiritual lives of our kids. 


Join with us all and let's pray this HUNGER & PASSION for God in our children.
Amen?

Mom's Praying for Mom's


Our amazing Lord has placed a burden in my heart to pray for MOM'S! For our girlfriends who are mothers, sisters, co-workers and even our own mothers.
Can we just join our hands together during this week and bind together in prayer for one another; as we are living out this AMAZING CALL on our lives? We all know, if we have been mothers for anytime, if mom doesn't feel well....the house isn't going to be well. That literally means- THE HOUSE, kids feeling the stress, order, meals and the list goes on and on; doesn't it?
Lately, I've been saying; "I wish I had a mommy taking care of me." Feeling a bit worn out; well to be honest greatly worn out. But, my vision is right before me. MY CHILDREN; I must live out a godly life before them. Are you like me sometimes...you just don't have it to give?
I want to pray for you (we all want to pray for you): 
1-Health: let us know if you are facing health issues and just need a healing touch of God.
2-Emotional: Are you facing anything in your life right now that is wearing your down, hurts, disappointments, fears, ...etc.
3-Financial: I would say a great % of us can put a request here. Yet, we will agree with you for God's provision & direction to both lead and bless you.
4-Marital: Are you facing a difficult chapter in your lives? When the house is divided...it cannot stand. We will pray!
5-Spiritual: Needing a refreshing, renewing of the Spirit of God to flow through your inner most being? Salvation? More of God?
Let us know...He indeed is faithful!

PRAY

Deuteronomy 4:29

"But if from there you will seek (inquire for and require as necessity) the Lord your God, you will find Him if you [truly] seek Him with all your heart [and mind] and soul and life."

Mom's the extremist thing we could EVER do is Pray! The strongest thing we can do and not worry about how gifted, talented, and smart we are is to SEEK God with all our hearts. Go for it this week. In the middle of the night, early in the morning or take a break and find that closet and call out to Jesus. He really is waiting to hear from you, our children NEED us to pray.

TO PRAY: Latin: precārī  to beg.  A Personal communication or petition addressed to a deity, in the form of supplication, adoration, praise, contrition, or thanksgiving.
WHY?  We are demonstrating our FAITH in the Higher Power of All...God! The Creator of the Universe. We know that we know...He indeed hears our Cries, and reaches down and answer  our prayers. 
          We pray to STAND IN THE GAP for our 'loved-ones' and others. Once again believing that when we do, calling out in the Name above All Names=Jesus! Satan trembles and has to flee. 
          We pray for guidance, healing, victory, supply and FOR COMPANY! Finding out we are NOT alone. 
FOR WHO? Who not? We pray for our enemies, for those who 'use-us', for our neighbors, churches, leaders and our family. Here, we are focusing on our children. 
I know the Lord led me tonight to this song...the first part of it is focused on praying for our children. Listen and get lost in the Presence of our Lord.

Praying For Your Child's Mind

Ever heard the quote: "You are what you think." It has been used in various formats through out time. The mind...it never seems to turn off. We know what we battle in ours don't we? Some stuff we would NEVER share with a soul. This is where a lot of spiritual warfare is definitely fought. 
The Word tells us to fill our minds with: Honorable things, Truth, Just, Honesty, Good Reports (positive), Virtue-pure, lovely, commendable....THINK ON THESE THINGS!
So, what is in the minds of our children?
Make Phil. 4:8 as a prayer (sure for yourself) a prayer for your children. Also a guideline on what books they read, music they listen to, movies (tv shows) they watch. Are they pure? True? 
If their minds are full of God's Love...insecurities they are facing will fade. Confusion will be gone. 
Proverbs 3:6 Clearly states: "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths."
This week...let's pray for our children's minds and for us as parents to teach them Phil. 4:8; by applying it to every area of their lives.

Teaching What Prayer is to Your Child

This week...in our prayer meeting. Let's invite the children to pray with us.
Pray with your kids mom! Allow them to lead in the prayers.
This week my daughter Felecia from her Beautiful Girlhood book by Mabel Hale is learning about this...finding that quiet time and today was: WHAT IS PRAYER?
Does your child know what prayer actually is?
Teach them first by Word...from the Word.
Take them to: Ps. 27:11/50:14-15/102:1/117:1
                      Mat. 5:44/7:11/26:41
                      Lu. 10:2  (Thanks Shelley N. for the script. references!)
There are droves of scriptures. These will tell your children how to pray, what to pray for, and who to pray for.
Tell your children...Prayer is (communion) time to talk to God and hear from Him. To thank Him, Worship Him, Cry before Him if needed, Ask for needs they or others may have and yes; desires too!
Then TEACH your child by example...not just at this period of time,  make it a a daily habit: PRAY WITH THEM!

HEDGE OF PROTECTION AS OUR GENERATIONS ARE IN SCHOOL

School has begun! Our children have now begun a brand new year of education...in the public school they also will start new friendships, join new clubs, and take new subjects. Regardless if our children are being home schooled or in the public arena. This is a wonderful time to be renewed in the prayer of God 'Building that Hedge of Protection' around them.
Zechariah 2:5 (New Living Translation)
Then I, myself, will be a protective wall of fire around Jerusalem, says the Lord. And I will be the glory inside the city!’”
Job 1:10
 “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?”. 
Let's pray for:
Physical Protection
Mental/Educational Protection
Emotional Protection
SPIRITUAL Protection
   Encourage and teach them about putting on the whole Armour of God DAILY! They learn by example and by Word. 
  I loved what this site had to share on this:
"There are three parts to a prayer for a hedge of protection:
*Ask God to bind and rebuke the power of Satan in the life of each one in your family. Be mighty through God to pull down strongholds. “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man”(Mark 3:27).
*Pray in the name and through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13). Christ’s name is Protector, the Good Shepherd that gives His life for His sheep.
*Claim the Scripture that relates to the kind of protection that is needed. For example, for protection from sin, you can claim a verse such as Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you”. PHYSICAL HEALING FOR YOUR CHILD

Mom's;  does your child have a health need that 'we' mom's can join together and pray with you for?
Please,  feel free to write the need and we all will 'AGREE' in faith for a complete healing!
-My son just got stitches in his hand. Already had some friends (mom's) praying. No pain! PTL!
-My youngest, has belly issues she has seen a pediatric gastroenterologist for. I am believe for a total healing for her.

PRAYING FAVOR ON OUR CHILDREN

As we pray for the favor of God upon our children; make note from the story of Joseph as he was highly favored of God. When his father Jacob prayed over his two sons...the favor passed on didn't it.
Thus, let's pray for God's Blessings upon us as well. As all we long for, is to do His Plans for our lives thus our children will inherit that same vision as well at attaining FAVOR.
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man." 
- Proverbs 3:3-4 

Jeremiah 33:3

"Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)."

FAVOR IS GOD'S RICH BLESSINGS ON A LIFE.

Pray This Promise & Share Your Heart

Isaiah 59:21 "As for Me, this is My covenant or league with them, says the Lord: My Spirit, Who is upon you [and Who writes the law of God inwardly on the heart], and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouths of your [true, spiritual] children, or out of the mouths of your children's children, says the Lord, from henceforth and forever." [Ampl.] 


All the years we have implanted God's Word into our children...God says IT WILL NOT DEPART!


Isahiah 59:12 "...thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations...be called, ...the restorer of paths to dwell in."


Our generations will be lifted up and built up for God...His Kingdom. By His Word living in and flowing out of their lives. 
"Jesus, we stand on these promises for our children, that they will not only know Your Word, but love your word, live by Your Word and Speak Your Word and be a Path for many to come to know You as their loving Savior."

What Are Your Top Priorities As You Pray -tell us!

TOP PRIORITIES WHEN YOU PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN
  Though there is some commonality as a Christian when we pray for our kids; as God leads us...there are times He may give us a unique conception on areas our children need prayer for. For example; for years I have prayed for my son to become a 'Man of Valour' like Joshua! 
  Will you share with us? You don't have to get personal...but generally what God has led you to pray.
  I like what this site listed as their top three priorities as mothers come together to pray.
Three Priorities of Prayer...
  1. "The salvation of our children (Isaiah 49:25;
    Psalm 144:12; Isaiah 43:5-6).
  2. That they take ownership of the faith at an accountable age (I John 2:25-28; James 1:25).
  3. That they enter into the ministry of the Lord's harvest (Matthew 9:38)." http://www.ladiesministries.org/daughters_of_zion.asp
I pray; 1- For my children's protection-physically, emotionally, financially, most important-Spiritually.
          2- For them to Fall in Love with Jesus; hungry for His Presence & His Word.
          3- That they all be prayers warriors, scholars of the Word, Soul Winners...not pew warmers but Church Fillers...(increasing God's Kingdom)
          4- Then I pray for their schooling, health issues, talents to increase and then their soul mates. (plus more as the Lord leads day by day).
YOUR TURN...tell us all: share and inspire!

1-I pray the the Lord guides my children so that they grow mature in Him. 
2-I pray that they will be built solidly on the foundation of Jesus, and grow in His grace with a conscious sense of His presence. 
3- May they continue to be built up with wisdom, favor, truth, love, life, faith, strength, and thankfulness (Luke 2:52: Eph. 4:15: Col. 2:6-7).
4- I ask the Lord to bless my children with the joy that comes from knowing Him and walking with Him. (Phil.4:4;Neh. 8:10)
 5-I pray for protection for my children by the covering blood of Jesus. I pray that they will know the power of the blood to defeat all the works of the evil one. By that power, bind the enemy from interfering with your perfect will in their lives. (John 17:15; 1John 4:4).
 
There are so many more, but I try to specifically pray these when I pray for them.

PROMISE SCRIPTURES... concerning your children

 THIS IS ...
  For our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and on....standing in the Gap...interceding for them all-that my friend; is our APPOINTMENT from God as mothers!
  My heart is being filled with the Spirit of God stirring me to PRAY like I have never prayed before. I am being drawn by God to cry out for my children; for their hearts to be His ALL the days of their lives. 
 Through the years I have seen several children who have been raised in godly homes...move on and then out of a personal walk with God and into a life of depravity and despair. In addition, mom's who feel as if they have failed as Shepherds of their little flock.
 On my face book page I messaged some friends who I know have a solid walk with the Lord. I asked them to share with me the promises God has given to them (from His Word) for their children. Allow me to share with you some of their responses. 
I do ask that you add on your prayers, your promises. 
Do you have a prayer requests....we will agree together and lift you up. 
Bear with me, I am not a computer geek---we all will do what we can to spread the word to one another to pray.

  • Paula Foster Young I have to pray without ceasing, for my children anyway! Lol! I do pray, and have learned to step back and let God be God in their own lives !
    I have to trust that the Holy Spirit will truly be their guidance with encouragement from their God given parents! Destiny has been entrusted to the Holy Spirit, as she ventures out to New horizons and destinations beyond our presence. It is much prayer on my part that she will be led to make wise and Godly choices!

    • Kelly Zumbahlen  Jeremiah 29:11 God has plans for my children. Plans to prosper them and give them a future. Plans to give them hope and not harm. I know this is not word for word, but you get the idea. :) Trusting God in all situations of life is what He wants us to do. As my children draw closer and closer to that flying from the nest, I pray that they find that personal relationship with God that will be intimate and real! My children are 13,12,11 (almost), and 9 (almost). I do not pray over my kiddos at bedtime any more, but pray for them throughout the day and anytime. I pray over them in my prayer times and when they are in need. I pray for them when they are hurting and let them hear me. God is so good!

        • My children are all grown and out of the house. I pray many scriptures over them but the one I seem to use frequently is from the Lord's prayer---Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. I constantly ask that God's will be done in their lives and His kingdom principles rule over them.

          • My kids are all grown. I know (I hope) I raised them as best I could. I pray for all 4 of them. Three of them I believe are either away from the Lord or walking away from Him. I pray for them seems like all day, everyday.

            • Ginger Payne Sharp Cool idea Daneille! The scripture I have prayed over my children since they were very young is Isaiah 54:13 " And your sons will be taught by the Lord and great will be your children's peace." God gave me this scripture when my children were small and when I, as a mom felt insecure about the huge responsibility of raising children who would grow to serve God. As parents. it is so important to teach our kids about God. It is even more important to teach them to recognize that God is the ultimate teacher, and that if they will learn to be taught by him, there will be no end to their peace. This is also a good scripture to claim over them as they grow and our direct influence over them diminishes. We can pray and thank God that he is teaching them even at times when we may not see obvious evidence of this.

                The best book I have found for my adult children, was given to me by my future daughter in law for mothers day. It is The Power of A Praying Parent by Stormie OMartian. The one I am going through right now is Praying for Your Adult Children. Plum full of scripture and godly wisdom. Praying the scripture for your children is powerful and effective...just like God's word.

                  Ann Blue Haney I plead the blood over my children daily and I believe as in Bible times it protects my children from danger. Often times I have put scriptures under their mattresses for areas I knew they were challenged in, I have anointed the doorways to their rooms at night and each and every night I give them a kiss goodnight and pray as a group. I do this know matter what their age, when my 23 year old stays the weekend, as he does.
                  • I give him a kiss goodnight and pray over him as well. When he has a life challenge he always calls mom for prayer. A laid foundation will never fall apart.
                  • God has given me direction for all my children, but probably the most important thing God has ever told me (I now understand) is this--"the prayers you prayed for me to help your child love me and accomplish my goal for his life can only be reached when I tell you it is my turn to take over the training. I love him more than you do and can lead him better than you can. You have accomplished the purpose I called you to now let me take over ". I now understand the importance of this word God gave me, even though at the time I did not think my child was ready. I have seen him grow closer to me and to God and God's will for his life. He understands now more than ever the importance of seeking God. I thank God for helping me let go and let him be in control.

                    • Ulonda Allen  As a mother of 10 children, my prayers vary in so many different ways an I believe all of Gods promises for my children, but the one most important to me is a WORD that gave me, in His word, while earnestly seeking for direction in my life is Isaiah 54:13 "and all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children". No matter where my children are in their walk with the Lord, I stand on God's Word and know that it will NOT return void but will accomplish what He says it will. My children and my husband are the very reason I exist, outside of God. I will always stand in the gap for them!!

                        (mom of 2 biological & 2 adopted) scripture: Jeremiah 31 16-17 "Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

                        • Vicky McIntosh Stankus I have the book "The Power of a Praying Parent" by Stormie Omartian. I have read through it in the past, but it has sort of gone by the wayside. This conversation is motivating me to get back into it again. I do pray for my children but, lately, its only been popcorn prayers about their safety and about their walk with the Lord. These are good, but I would like to do more. I see it as vital, due to some circumstances that have arrised in the last few weeks. A blog on this topic is a great idea.
